A big gathering is being planned for 2021 advertised as “probably the largest drone event in the U.K.”. DroneFest 2021 is now a website that explains that this DroneFest will take place over four days. Their agenda is advertised in the following way:
“Day 1 and 2 will be a secure, closed, invitation-only day for emergency services, civil agencies, emergency planners, and military. . . . The secure days will be September 2 and 3, 2021, with the public days, September 4 and 5.
Location has not yet been revealed, but the site promises: The venue will be announced very shortly. DroneFest will be held on a large RAF site with full size runway and several large exhibition halls.”*
The details are expected to be worked out in the near future. The following is the only other information provided so far:
“The team behind DroneFest comprises of industry with a true passion for drones. The idea is to showcase how drone technology is moving at an incredible pace both in the public and service sectors. Both sectors have very different requirements which is why the event is organized in two stages”*.
So far the location has not been decided: “We are finalizing the location that we guarantee will be impressive and we are securing four days for the event in September 2021.”*
The event is expected to be a full-scale conference with seminars, demonstrations, exhibition booths, even camping.
Because of COVID-19, many of the organizers have moved to virtual gatherings this year. InterDrone, like a few others, are planning to have physical gatherings, but with enhanced safety measures.
One of the advantages of virtual conferences is their price. For instance, DJI’s AirWorks2020 now has been discounted to $99. Talk about a great deal!
