Matrice 300 RTK Highlights: Performance, Safety and Security

The Matrice 300 RTK sets a whole new standard for commercial drones by combining  high-performance and aviation grade situational awareness with unmatched reliability.

Elevated Body

The M300 RTK has downward-facing propellers that are not just for looks. With the body raised, the center of gravity is above the plane of the propellers which results in  amazing agility and maneuverability. If equipped with a third-party emergency chute, it will deploy without impact by the propeller blades as a last resort emergency solution.

Redundant Features

The M300 RTK platform boasts backups for 12 critical flight components. In the unlikely event of a hardware failure, the backup unit will come online to ensure your safe return. For example, dual batteries, an extra IMU, compass and barometer as well as backup power on the M300 RTK’s main circuit boards and communication links.

Visibility Lights

The M300 RTK is equipped with auxiliary lights top and bottom for low light, low-visibility conditions. The collision avoidance sensors rely on these when conditions warrant. The M300 RTK also has a beacon on top to highlight the drone’s position for both the pilots and others in the airspace.

New Generation Collision Avoidance

The M300 RTK’s collision avoidance sensors now have an unobstructed view due to the downward facing propellers. There are six dual vision sensors and dual time-of-flight (TOF) sensors on this industrial platform to give omnidirectional collision avoidance.  These sensors are effective even in low light situations when auxiliary top and bottom  lights automatically turn on. Add the upcoming Circular Scanning Millimeter-Wave  (CSM) radar attachment and this drone will have 360 degree obstacle avoidance capabilities to augment the six sensors. Pilots can maintain safety while flying in close  proximity to their targets.

Advanced Dual Control Mode

New multi-pilot control capabilities in this mode, enable mission performance with safety and flexibility. This gives each pilot equal access to flight control priority.  The transfer is shown on the display on the DJI Smart Controller Enterprise. If one pilot’s controller loses connection or battery, the other pilot gains full control of the mission. When training newer pilots, the teacher can assume control when necessary or when performing missions over greater distances.

Increased Ascend and Descend Speeds and Battery Life

The M300 RTK is fast with ascent speeds of >5m/s, descent speeds of >3m/s, and top horizontal speed of >23m/s (51 mph). Once it’s time to return home, rather than  returning to the home point and descending vertically, the M300 RTK now offers  horizontal slope descent at 6m/s. This reduces flight time and extends battery life. Two TB60 batteries together allow 45 minutes of hover when flying with an H20 camera or 55 minutes without. You can also hot swap batteries and quickly get back in the air. The M300 RTK comes packaged with a portable Battery Station that houses eight TB60  batteries, charges two in approximately 60 minutes and stores an additional four  controller batteries. The TB60s are reliable even in sub-zero temperatures and in an  emergency where one battery becomes disconnected, the other can get you back  home.

Primary Flight Display ( PFD )

Using a new flight display system inspired by civil aviation, PFD gives pilots access to real-time navigation and flight information. The display provides an Obstacle Map to show obstacles in the immediate area as well as altitude and speed data. PFD gives the  pilots functional and intuitive information for enhanced awareness during the mission.

New Health Management System

The M300 RTK is built with a new maintenance and tracking system to track usage, hardware status and provide owners and operators information to perform maintenance when due.
