DJI AGRAS T20 Drone Is A Great Asset For Spraying Crops!

DJI’s latest drone, the AGRAS T20, is a high performance and precision drone used for agricultural spraying, which makes agricultural spraying much more practical, as it promises to make spraying easier, smarter and safer.

Although crop spraying by drone has been adopted in many places around the world, it has not been legal in many places in the U.S. With the increased automation in drone technology, drones have become easier and safer to fly. Crop spraying by drone, therefore, is more appealing to agronomists who are looking for more efficient and less expensive options.

Portable, Easy To Operate

The AGRAS T20 is optimized to work in the most complicated environments and in different agricultural lands, from its easy autonomous flight planning and terrain-sensing radar, to its extended flight time, high payload capacity, and its off-the-grid power options.

A DJI press release points out that the AGRAS T20 is modular, portable, and ready for any environment, “from its easy autonomous flight planning and terrain-sensing radar, to its extended flight time, high payload capacity, and off-the-grid power options.”*

The press release also points out that the DJI AGRAS T20 folds and unfolds in mere seconds, and the spray tank and battery are both swappable, thereby reducing downtime.

The press release explained:

“Thanks to a new programmable DJI AGRAS Smart Controller 2.0 and the DJI AGRAS app, the user interface runs smoothly and is incredibly intuitive. In addition, the smart controller comes with an ultra-bright 5.5-inch display, which remains readable even under direct sunlight. It also supports external battery packs and can last twice as long as other remote controllers, perfect for lengthy or heavy workloads.”*

Upgraded Spraying System

The DJI AGRAS T20 can carry a maximum payload of 20kg and a 20% improvement on the uniformity of spray droplets and the effective spray width of 7 meters because of the placement of the nozzles. The AGRAS T20 is also equipped with 8 nozzles and high-volume pumps that can spray at a rate of up to 6 L/min, and with a highly optimized wind field, it produces droplets that are ideal in size and consistency. It also has the new 4-channel electromagnetic flow meter design, which can monitor and control the four hoses individually, thereby ensuring an efficient flow rate for each nozzle. The result of such an upgraded spraying system leads to improved accuracy and efficiency.

Enhanced Safety Features

The DJI AGRAS T20 is equipped with an Omnidirectional Digital Radar system, which is able to detect obstacles from all horizontal directions. In addition, it can automatically circumvent obstacles while flying over various terrains, ensuring a high level of operational safety. With such a radar system, the AGRAS T20 can adapt to some of the most challenging environments due to its strong resistance to dust and water and to an impressive IP67 rating. The DJI AGRAS T20 can also withstand splashes when cleaning the aircraft body with water.

The AGRAS T20 also makes it possible for users to set flight and operation parameters easily. The built-in RTK centimeter-level positioning system and the RTK dongles, enables centimeter-level waypoint recording, thereby strengthening operations significantly and ensuring precision spraying. In addition, it comes with a real-time FPV camera and two searchlights, providing comprehensive live views even during low-light operations.

The DJI AGRAS T20 is optimized to work in the most complicated environments and different agricultural lands, from its basic autonomous flight planning and terrain-sensing radar, to its extended flight time, high payload capacity, and off-the-grid power options.

Future

DJI’s latest drone, the AGRAS T20, is impressive in so many ways with numerous features that makes it a high performance and precision agriculture spraying drone.

With its impressive features and its modular and portable design, it is accessible and scalable for farmers who are ready to apply digital insights and automated spray technology into their operations.
